Welcome to Bill Alston Online - National Level Body Builder

When I look back over the last ten years, I smile. I am 77 years old and this was not the life I envisioned when I retired. After years in business and Real Estate, I just wanted to work in my yard. I weighed almost 200 pounds and my cholesterol was high from a junk food diet. Medication could control my numbers, but was not good for my liver. I made a decision to take control of my diet and make changes in my life.

Things began to improve and a visit from my son, who works out regularly, got me into the gym. I worked out everyday and loved it. After a couple of years a friend suggested I try body building. My wife sent for NPC rules, posing tapes, and trunks and we were on our way. I took first place in my first two shows that year. It became a learning experience to train, eat, and sleep to maintain this.

My next two years of competition by most standards were successful. I placed first or second and qualified for Nationals where I placed third. I was still on my own reading, checking and learning all I could.

In 2006, I met Tim Gardner and joined his Team Body Tech. I now had someone who would give direction on training, food, posing and month to month advise on Bodybuilding. I was aiming for first place at the Nationals.

I had a heart attack on May 12th, 2008, twelve weeks from the nationals. My wife and I were at the gym. I felt dizzy and nauseous, but had no pain. Always listen to your body, this was not me. My wife took me to the hospital and I had one stent placed. I have a wonderful Doctor who said my good conditioning saved my life. By January 2009, I was back in training and the rest is history in the making.
I do not know the future, but with my beautiful wife Rosemarie of 58 years by my side, I look forward to each day. We appreciate your donations and support.
